This sculpture was created after reading a book about the Witch Trials. One account was particularly heart-renching to me about a woman named Anna Pappenheimer. So this is for her.
Bellavia is a Western New York and New Orlean based artist who has exhibited in local, regional, national and international venues. She received her MFA from Alfred University, Alfred N.Y. and her BFA from Buffalo State College, Buffalo N.Y. Her interests and development span several traditional disciplines including: sculpture, printmaking, drawing and casting. Bellavia works with these various methods and materials to produce work that strives to blend the personal with the objective, going beyond the personal.
