This piece was made after cleaning out an attic of a deceased old womans house. This became an interpretation of how lives intersect and how I related to someone I never knew - words from the found novena on piece "against Satan's wiles and an infidel throng... the fire of thy love - and for the good of my soul...that we may be worthy."
About Bellavia
Bellavia is a Western New York and New Orlean based artist who has exhibited in local, regional, national and international venues. She received her MFA from Alfred University, Alfred N.Y. and her BFA from Buffalo State College, Buffalo N.Y. Her interests and development span several traditional disciplines including: sculpture, printmaking, drawing and casting. Bellavia works with these various methods and materials to produce work that strives to blend the personal with the objective, going beyond the personal.
